Japan Task Force
Challenge: The earthquake, tsunami and nuclear meltdown catastrophes of 3.11 in Japan caused severe electric power capacity shortages and revealed long-term structural deficiencies within the power industry.
Solution: Diversity the energy mix, deploy demand-side management solutions, develop global energy innovation ecosystems, sponsor moonshot projects, and leverage market position as the world’s largest LNG importing country.
Delivery:
In partnership with the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), the Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Authority (ADWEA), and the Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA), we organized a by invitation roundtable and technology showcase at JBIC Hall in Tokyo.

We developed a policy and technology roadmap to year 2030 for Japan’s energy industry and showcased state-of-the-art and next generation energy technologies from around the world that addressed challenges caused by the 3.11 catastrophes and that have the potential to reposition Japan as a leader in global energy.
